Key Responsibilities for GIS Specialists

  1. Collaborative Engagement: Work with teams and clients to align project objectives and requirements.
  2. GIS Portal Development: Assist in the preparation of GIS web portals, including base maps, geo-referencing, cadastral map digitization, and data integration.
  3. Data Compilation: Collect and manage data from diverse sources, such as satellite imagery, UAV, LiDAR, DGPS surveys, governmental databases, and more.
  4. Proposal and Bid Management: Create GIS-based proposals, manage RFP processes, and oversee vendor onboarding.
  5. Quality Assurance: Conduct ground truthing and data validation to maintain spatial data accuracy.
  6. Spatial Analysis: Identify trends, patterns, and relationships to support urban and regional planning projects.
  7. Data Visualization: Develop maps, charts, and visual tools for effective communication with stakeholders.
  8. Progress Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports for clients.

Mandatory Skills

  • Expertise in GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and Google Earth Engine.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle dynamic workloads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present ideas clearly.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ArcGIS Online, Story Maps, and Drone2Map for data processing.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and offline data capture tools.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Geoinformatics, or related fields.
  • Exceptional teamwork abilities and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: BE/B.Tech (CS/IT), MCA, MSc (Geoinformatics), or PG Diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing (1 year).
  • Experience: 3-7 years in GIS-related roles with demonstrated expertise in spatial data management and analysis.
